About the Senton 223S
A 4WD short course truck on Arrma's 223S platform — the Senton uses the Spektrum Smart brushless system and mid-range chassis that shares design DNA with the Typhon buggy but wrapped in a short course truck body. The wider stance and more neutral handling compared to the Typhon make it less aggressive but more forgiving across a wider range of surfaces. Short course trucks sit between buggies and monster trucks in terms of ground clearance and aerodynamics — more terrain-capable than a buggy, more aerodynamically stable than a monster truck. The Senton 4x4's 4WD drivetrain adds grip that the original 2WD version lacked.
Key Specs
Who It's For
Intermediate drivers who want a versatile 4WD platform that handles well on dirt, hardpack, and light grass. Drivers who came from short course racing or prefer the short course body style. The 223S electronics are compatible with other Spektrum transmitters if upgrading from an existing radio system.
Upgrade Notes
The front lower arms are a known breakage point on hard hits — aluminum replacements are widely available. Short course body takes more wind resistance at speed than buggy bodies; pinion gear selection affects whether the truck pulls strongly at the top end. Diff fluid tuning improves cornering consistency.
Common first mods:aluminum front arms, 3S LiPo battery, diff fluid repack, pinion gear, body
